Here are a few Frequently asked questionS we thought we would share with you! 

  • What flowers / greenery are useful to your organization following the wedding?

    We are able to accept all floral that has stems ideally 6" long or more! Compotes and small bud vase arrangements typically have stems that are a little too short for us to use in a water/vase arrangement. We cannot accept garlands, wreaths or loose/short cut greenery or floral stems.

  • Why is Unexpected Blooms requesting a charitable monetary donation?

    Your donation at $250 or whatever amount you choose to donate helps to offset the usual and customary expenses incurred in our nonprofit business, e.g. supplies, insurance, software and other costs. Your monetary donation may be tax deductible. We realize this is a big ask and we appreciate your understanding and donation. We don’t want your flowers to go into the trash bin.

  • What is your floral donation process?

    To donate - simply have your bride or other wedding contact complete our Wedding Floral Donation Form on the website! Once we receive this, they will be entered in the system and we will reach out with any additional information that is needed.

  • What about pickup of the flowers following the event?

    For some donations, we may be able to arrange to have our volunteers pickup the flowers at the venue itself, but this is not always possible at this point, as we are operating with a volunteer team. We are currently working to build our list of volunteers to accommodate more pickups! Here is a link to sign-up to volunteer!

  • What if you are not able to pickup my flowers after the wedding?

    We will enter the flower donation pickup into our volunteer portal and will let you know by the Monday prior to your event if pickup is confirmed. Because we operate on volunteer support, if we are unable to source someone from our network to collect the flowers following your event, another option is to find a guest or other person who is willing to volunteer to bring them to our design workspace - the day following the event!
